Let's Make Something Good

Whether we’re your go-to coffee spot, indispensable caterer, happy hour home, or the place where you get your sandwich just the way you like it, we’re forever grateful you love what we love to make.

This is our Story

Good food makes us happy

Food has always been a source of joy, energy, and momentum for us. It was engrained in us from the beginning: Margaret, helping her mother host endless family dinner parties; me, fascinated with ingredients, flavors, and how a dish is composed.

Together, we found a shared passion for all things culinary and took New York by storm – exploring every restaurant, farmers markets, and dissecting every part of the dining experience.

A Life Saver

People often say there’s a moment in their lives that’s responsible for shaping the rest of their path. Before Margaret and I met, I worked in finance, and on September 11, 2001, a routine coffee run saved my life. I was one of the blessed survivors, and as so many of us did after that day, I redirected my path to focus on my passion – with hopes that I could make a career of it.

I wanted to learn everything about the food industry, from the ground up. So, I made that my mission and in the process, found both my calling and my future wife.

City Love

We lived the New York life: Margaret traveling the world and working for a brand creation and marketing agency; me, absorbing every ounce of high-end eateries and markets from the operational side.

As we succeeded in our separate careers, we realized we could combine Margaret’s creative background and my experience in the industry, and do something amazing of our very own.

So, we took an even bigger leap – and decided to do what we love in the city we wanted to call home. The city where Margaret went to college and where we were married.

Gourmet Every Day

Inspired by all we’d experienced in New York, we moved to Charleston and built a gourmet market and café designed to be a place that made gourmet a part of the every day. Despite the trials of growing and running our own business – we enjoyed doing what we love most – surrounding ourselves with food.

In the midst of it all, we became parents to two incredible boys and continued to grow an extended family through a team that’s as passionate about food and service as we are.

Our loyal, longtime customers, and neighborhoods that embrace us both personally and professionally have perhaps, without even knowing, shown us that taking a risk for what you love is well worth it.
